Elevate Your Adventure

Our ultimate challenge canyoneering adventures offer access to intermediate or advanced canyons. Explore the Alcatraz, Quandary, Boss Hog, Cassidy Arch, Middle Fork of Leprechaun, or locations that are more remote such as Mindbender, Not Mindbender, North Fork Robbers Roost, and Larry Canyon.

Intermediate and advanced level canyons require previous technical canyoneering experience and a high level of physical fitness and endurance.

Remote canyons are beginner-friendly, but require long (8+ hour), physical days plus two to three hours round-trip driving time. Guests should be prepared for rugged, off-trail travel, and long strenuous days. These canyons are also well-suited for those interested in multi-day adventures. We set up a central, canyoneering basecamp and head out each day on a new exciting adventure.

Itinerary

Our adventure begins with a warm welcome from your guide who will discuss a shortlist of recommended route options for the day. With some of the best technical slot canyon options on the planet, picking only one is often the first challenge of the day. We’ll discuss your group’s preferences, canyoneering background and fitness levels before deciding on a route. Rest assured, all of our route options are amazing and take place at some of the wildest, most remote and serene landscapes in the Lower 48.

Once our route is chosen, we’ll do a final check of gear and provisions and caravan by vehicle to the trailhead. Your guide will provide a short safety discussion and practice session before setting out on the day’s adventure.

Frequently Asked Questions

No this particular adventure is designed for all levels from beginner to advanced.

Wear clothes you can move in and don’t mind if they get “worn-in” by the canyons. Make sure to bring enough layers in case of cool temperatures. For your feet, comfortable medium-weight hiking shoes or boots work best. You definitely need closed-toed shoes (no Chacos!) that you’ve worn before and broken in well.

Entrance fees and snacks are included in the price.

We are happy to include healthy, nutritious and delicious snacks on all of our outings. We typically bring a nut mix and dried fruit along with us. We welcome you to bring some snacks of your own if you’ve got something specific you’d like.

Please note: we are happy to accommodate vegetarian, vegan, kosher, and gluten-free diets—just get in touch with us, and we’ll chat about your needs!

There is usually little to no signal where we tour. It’s the perfect time to unplug and truly enjoy nature! If you need to stay connected for a specific reason, please get in touch with us, and we’ll work together to get it sorted.
